I recently received training on gene knockdown using the Cas9 vector from Dr. So-Hyeon Lee and her team. As this was my first time learning these techniques, the experience was both meaningful and highly educational. Despite their busy schedules, Dr. Lee and her team kindly provided detailed guidance throughout the entire process.
The training covered the fundamental concepts of sgRNA design, primer construction, and the overall workflow of Cas9-based gene knockdown. Dr. Lee explained each step clearly and patiently, helping me build a solid understanding of concepts that were previously unfamiliar to me. The hands-on sessions allowed me to directly observe and practice key procedures, which greatly enhanced my confidence and practical understanding beyond theoretical knowledge.
I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to the PI of the laboratory, Professor Seok-Yong Choi, for allowing me to participate in this training and for providing an environment where I could learn openly and comfortably. This opportunity gave me a systematic understanding of gene knockdown experiments and will serve as a strong foundation for my future research.
